The start of something new

Well, here we are having just completed Kade's first week as a Certified Flight Instructor with Utah Helicopter. In order for Kade to have this job, we have to make a few sacrifices. Kade has to live in Idaho Falls, ID and instruct out of this branch. I however, still live in Utah and need to tie up the loose ends of our lives there. Kade was offered the job on July 30th and we had to make a decision by the following Monday, and then had to have him up here 3 weeks later. That doesn't give much time for anything, really! So we got Kade up here and he has spent the last week not only instructing, but continuing his training as well. He still needs to obtain his CFII (Instrument Instructor) rating before he can completely focus on being an instructor. His first official day as an instructor was last Tuesday August 26th, 2008. What an AWESOME day that was! He only taught ground that day, but he said that was the easiest money he's ever made! I don't know that it was really the easiest, but the fact that he really loves what he's doing makes it seem that easy. I was able to stay in Idaho with him until Wed, and then had to return home to take care of the pets and go to work. Since tomorrow is Labor day and I had a 3 day weekend I was able to come back up on Friday night. So Kade and I have been able to spend the weekend together, which has been really nice.

As far as plans for the future are concerned, it's all up in the air. Kade has to stay in Idaho until he reaches 1000 hours and then he can go out into the real world and pursue a job out there. He wants to try out Alaska for at least a season and fly tours around there. After that we're thinking the Gulf of Mexico. There is a REALLY good company out there that would give Kade numerous opportunities that we don't know if he could get elsewhere. As for me, I have an opportunity to become certified in Human Resources, and I would like to be able to do that before I start with all the moving. That will hopefully be beneficial to me wherever we end up.

Life, as you can see, is about to get really interesting. I'll do my best to let you all know what's going on, assuming that I can keep up with it myself! Thanks for reading!

Congrats to Kade! I'm so excited for you guys. How long will it take for you to be certified in Human Resources? I forgot how you termed it.
